The position
The CMO Specialist - Injection Moulding supports the execution of ViCentra's manufacturing scaling, industrialisation, and improvement activities for injection moulded parts at Contract Manufacturing Organisations (CMOs) and critical component suppliers.
The role focuses on day-to-day operational coordination, project execution, and performance support for outsourced injection moulding operations, ensuring targets around quality, delivery, capacity, and cost are met under guidance of the Contract Manufacturing / Supplier Development Lead.
Duties & Responsibilities
Acts as the primary operational point of contact for assigned CMOs and critical injection moulding suppliers for day-to-day manufacturing, assembly, and engineering-related topics.
Supports execution of scaling and capacity expansion activities for injection moulded parts at CMOs and critical suppliers.
Coordinates and supports injection moulding manufacturing and industrialisation projects at CMOs, including initiating and following up projects in their initial phase to help ensure they stay on track (yield improvement, throughput optimisation, cost reduction, process stabilisation).
Tracks injection moulding KPIs (e.g. cycle time, OEE, yield, scrap) and supports root cause analysis and corrective actions in collaboration with CMO and supplier teams.
Supports and helps facilitate recurring injection moulding project and performance meetings; tracks progress and priorities and follows up on agreed actions and commitments.
Supports NPI and product change activities relating to injection moulded parts at CMOs, coordinating builds, process readiness, and manufacturing feedback.
Reviews injection moulding manufacturing documentation such as process flows, process specifications, work instructions, and assembly procedures on a need basis.
Supports the design, development, introduction, validation, and optimisation of injection moulding manufacturing processes and methods, under guidance of the Technical Lead Injection Moulding, Process and Quality Engineering
Supports verification and validation of injection moulding processes, machines, and equipment (including IQ/OQ/PQ protocols) to help meet Medical Device Regulation and Company procedure requirements.
Supports injection moulding engineering design and tooling reviews.
Supports continuous improvement initiatives between ViCentra and CMOs/suppliers using applicable Lean and problem-solving methodologies.
Escalates operational, quality, or delivery risks in a timely manner to the Technical Lead Injection Moulding or Contract Manufacturing / Supplier Development Lead. Work Environment

Office based / light manufacturing environment
Regular interaction with external CMOs and injection moulding suppliers
Ability to visit external vendors in the Netherlands and internationally
<25% travel
Job requirements
Must Have
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or related engineering discipline
5 years relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, industrialisation, supply chain engineering, or project based roles in an outsourced manufacturing environment, ideally including exposure to injection moulding of plastic components
Experienced in working with external manufacturers or suppliers, in high volume, high precision plastic components manufacturing
Hands-on experience with assembly or manufacturing processes
Understanding of injection moulding process troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Ability to manage operational and project activities in parallel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good administrative and IT skills (Microsoft Office, basic project tracking tools)
Clear and structured communication skills
Fluent written and spoken English
Ability to work in a fast-paced, scaling environment
Nice to Have
Understanding of outsourced manufacturing and supplier performance management
Exposure to ISO 13485 and regulated manufacturing environments
Experience supporting NPI into manufacturing
Experience with statistical or data analysis tools (e.g. Minitab)
Basic knowledge of mould flow analysis
Exposure to 3D CAD/SolidWorks and or Mould flow simulation tools.
